In Game 2, with the Mets trailing the series 1–0, Koosman pitched 8.2 innings, allowing just one run in a 2–1 victory. His ability to neutralize Baltimore’s powerful lineup on the road shifted momentum and demonstrated that the Mets could compete with the heavily favored Orioles.
